Cart Rocket Documentation

Pre-loaded cart links for Shopify — add products, discounts, and tracking in one link, and send customers straight to a checkout-ready cart.

Overview#

Cart Rocket lets Shopify merchants create pre-loaded cart links that automatically:

  • Add products and variants to the cart
  • Apply discounts
  • Bundle items
  • Enforce purchase limits
  • Control who is eligible to buy
  • Track revenue by campaign

Instead of sending traffic to product pages, you send customers directly to a checkout-ready cart. It fills the gap between the ad click and the checkout.

Quickstart#

What is a cart preset?

A cart preset is a reusable configuration that includes selected products, quantities, discounts, shipping incentives, discount codes, eligibility rules, purchase limits, and tracking parameters. Each preset generates a unique shareable link.

Creating your first cart preset

  1. Open the dashboardGo to the Cart Rocket dashboard inside your Shopify admin.
  2. Create a cartClick Create cart — or duplicate an existing preset to reuse its setup.
  3. Name itSet a title you'll recognize in analytics, e.g. bfcm-bundle.
  4. Configure products and rulesAdd products, discounts, eligibility, limits, and dates.
  5. Copy the generated linkEvery preset gets a short, shareable URL.
  6. Deploy in campaignsPaste it into ads, email flows, SMS, or creator bios.

Managing products#

Adding products

Inside a preset, click Add product, select one or more products, choose specific variants, and set quantities. Products are automatically added to the customer's cart when the link is opened.

Editing quantities

Each product allows quantity adjustment. Common use cases:

  • Bundle packs — 3× of the same item
  • Wholesale bulk orders
  • Gift sets

Removing products

Click the trash icon next to a product to remove it from the preset.

Discounts#

Cart Rocket supports multiple discount types, all applied automatically when the link opens.

Line-item discounts

Apply discounts directly to specific products — as a percentage or a fixed amount. Example: 25% off the snowboard, full price on the wax. This gives you strategic margin control, bundle optimization, and selective discounting.

Cart-wide discounts

Apply a percentage or fixed-amount discount to the entire cart. Ideal for storewide sales, flash offers, and paid ad campaigns.

Shipping discounts

Apply shipping incentives automatically — free shipping campaigns, reduced-shipping promos, or ad-specific offers. Shipping discounts are applied the moment the preset link is used.

Automatic discount codes

Add one or more Shopify discount codes to be auto-applied (e.g. SAVE10, WELCOME20). Multiple codes are supported and the customer never types anything.

⚠️Important: discount codes must already exist in Shopify before they can be attached to a preset.

Bundles#

Cart Rocket creates bundle-like cart experiences without modifying your theme.

How it works: add multiple products → apply bundle pricing → share a single link.

  • Holiday kits
  • Influencer drops
  • Product sets
  • Upsell packs
💡Combine bundles with line-item discounts to discount the hero product while keeping accessories at full margin.

Checkout options#

Choose where customers land after clicking the preset link.

Customer rules#

Control who can access a preset.

All customers

Anyone with the link can use it. Best for public campaigns, ads, and email marketing.

Specific customer segments

Restrict the preset to Shopify customer segments — VIP customers, loyalty tiers, or wholesale buyers.

Specific customers

Manually select individual customers for private drops, early access, and exclusive offers.

Purchase limits#

Limit how many times a preset can be used.

Max purchases — overall

Cap total purchases across all customers (e.g. 100 total redemptions). Perfect for limited drops, scarcity campaigns, and controlled inventory.

Max purchases — per customer

Limit purchases per customer, e.g. one per customer, to enforce fairness and prevent abuse.

ℹ️Per-customer limits require the customer to be logged in to their Shopify account.

Reset usage

Purchase counters can be reset manually at any time from the preset.

Active dates#

Schedule when presets are valid.

  • Start date & time — when the preset becomes active
  • End date — optional; after it passes, the preset automatically deactivates

Perfect for midnight launches, flash sales, and campaign coordination.

🕐All times are shown and enforced in UTC.

Tracking & attribution#

Cart Rocket includes built-in UTM tracking on every link.

Supported UTM parameters: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content — plus any custom query parameters you add.

Why it matters: track revenue by Facebook Ads, Google Ads, email campaigns, influencers, and SMS. Revenue attribution is stored and visible inside Analytics.

Analytics#

Analytics provide preset-level performance data, aggregated daily from order attributes (UTMs and custom parameters) and preset usage markers.

MetricDescription
Total OrdersAll store orders in the selected range
Preset OrdersOrders that came through a rocket link
Revenue / Preset RevenueStore-wide vs. link-attributed revenue
AOVAverage order value, with date-range filtering

Four tabs break performance down: Overview, Presets, Campaigns, and Custom parameters.

Sharing presets#

Each preset generates a unique short link you can use anywhere:

  • Facebook & Google ads
  • Email campaigns and SMS flows
  • Influencer links and bios
  • QR codes on packaging or print
  • B2B quick reorder links

Best practices#

For paid ads

  • Send directly to checkout
  • Pre-apply discounts
  • Track UTMs
  • Create a separate preset per campaign

For influencers

  • Create a unique preset per influencer
  • Track via utm_campaign
  • Apply unique discount codes

For flash sales

  • Set an active date window
  • Add purchase limits
  • Use scarcity messaging

For bundles

  • Pre-configure quantities
  • Apply line-item discounts
  • Skip building separate landing pages

Troubleshooting#

Discount not applying

Check that the discount exists in Shopify, is active, and its conditions are met.

Preset not working

Check that the preset status is Enabled, the active date window is valid, and the purchase limit hasn't been exceeded.

Customer limit not enforced

Ensure the customer is logged in and a per-customer limit is set on the preset.
